One of our most exciting projects involved three social service agencies, Family Service Centre of Ottawa, Rideauwood Addictions and Family Services and Citizen Advocacy, who came together in 2000 to purchase the former Wackid Radio building at 312 Parkdale Avenue in Ottawa and convert it into 23,000 square feet of space for themselves and other non-profit charitable agencies. A unique feature of this $3.1 million project is that nearly one third of the space is shared amongst all the agencies, for greater operating efficiency. As owners of their own premises, the agencies are not subject to rent increases and can dedicate more of their financial resources to client service.
