The
closing of the CPR main line from Ottawa to Carleton Place
made this co-operative housing development possible. The
Eagleson Road site is an irregular property shaped like
two adjacent triangles, with the base of the triangles
running along the railway right-of-way, now a hiking and
bike path. Architect Ralph VandenBerg situated the 45
unit $4.4 million apartment building on the front triangle,
keeping the rear triangle as open space. The project included
12 wheelchair accessible units and was completed in 1992.
